RentLocal was founded with a simple idea: connect people who need a car in the Faroe Islands with locals who have one to share. Whether you're a visitor exploring the islands for a week or a local needing wheels for a weekend, RentLocal makes it effortless.

We're a peer-to-peer marketplace - every car is owned and looked after by a real person in the community. No rental depots, no hidden fees, no queues. Just a direct connection between driver and owner, backed by secure ePay/Nets payments, ID-verified renters, and structured pickup and drop-off documentation on every trip.

All prices and payments are in DKK. Owners decide their own daily rate, availability, and pickup details, and receive their payout straight to their bank account after the rental is complete. Every booking includes insurance and a refundable deposit; renters are liable for at most 4,000 DKK for damage, or can buy the optional deductible reduction (when the owner offers it) to lower that to 2,000 DKK.
